Oh yes, Punta Mita has golf! Not one, but two Jack Nicklaus Signature golf courses grace the beautiful grounds adjacent to the Four Seasons and St. Regis Resorts. Access to Club de Golf is exclusive to Punta Mita homeowners, renters and guests staying at the resorts. Enjoy a sunny morning on the green, listening to the hypnotic surf below, followed by a late afternoon lunch or cocktail hour—it doesn’t get any better than this!

You grip your racket. You can see the whites of your opponent’s eyes. Time seems to stop as you lift your racket and hit an ace into your opponent’s court. The silence is broken by a roaring crowd …..
Back to reality, you are enjoying a gorgeous day on the courts at the Punta Mita Tennis Center, listening to the roaring surf below. Rent a court and have some fun with family or friends. If you’d like to go home with a better game, lessons and clinics offered by highly trained professionals are also available. Or if you’d just like to practice your swing, rent a ball machine for a couple hours and swing away!

Water Sports

Punta Mita has the highest concentration of crystal clear surf breaks on the 200 miles of coastline called the Riviera Nayarit! Surrounded by water on three sides, there are endless year-round surfing spots for every ability level. Whatever your ability—from very beginner to more experienced, there are waves just for you. Punta Mita has several reputable surf schools whose teachers will gear you up, teach you technique and take you to the break perfect for your ability level.

Annually, humpback whales come to Punta Mita’s waters, providing a once-in a lifetime experience for lucky visitors. Visit between December and April and you can take a boat trip right from Punta Mita and get up close and personal with these mammoth creatures! Experienced guides are expert at noticing the telltale signs of whales beneath the surface and will take your boat right to them. Often these playful creatures will jump and cavort right in front of you, splashing your boat with their behemoth bodies.

Only 15 minute boat ride from Punta Mita is the Marietas Islands Nature Preserve. Known as the “Galapagos of Mexico,” the Marietas Islands are home to some of the world’s most abundant wildlife. Formed by volcanos thousands of years ago, these islands were used for military testing until Jacques Cousteau started a large-scale protest in the 1960’s which protected the island’s abundant resources for visitors to enjoy! The premier scuba and snorkeling location, these islands are also a migratory bird sanctuary. Among the 92 species of aquatic birds that call this home for part of the year is the colorful blue-footed booby.

Punta Mita offers many options if you’d like to break up your beach time and do something different! Take a tour of a tequila distillery and find out how that popular spirit is made. Tour through the green agave fields, sip different types of tequila on a patio, or just relax in the sun and take in the earthy smells.

If you want to get inland for an exhilarating adventure, Punta Mita is the place for off-road ATV or jeep tours. There are several companies who offer a multitude of adventures which will take you deep into the surrounding jungle and mountains, gaining access to incredible views of the coastline.
Or consider a Tarzan-type experience: zip-lining at breakneck speeds through the jungle canopy then rappelling down vertical waterfalls and swimming in pristine emerald pools. Whatever type of adventure suits your fancy, our concierge service can set it all up for you. All you need to do is show up and have a blast!

Looking for something more cultural? Take a tour to visit an authentic Huichol village, where you can step back in time. The Huichol, the last known pre-Columbian tribe, live in the nearby Sierra Madre Mountains and live as they did centuries ago, connecting to Mother Nature through their beautiful artwork and spiritual practices.

Looking to have a day just for you where every need is met? Then spend some time at one of the two world-class spas in Punta Mita. Sea Turtle Restoration Project

Each year, residents and guests are lucky enough to take part in one of Mother Nature’s most beautiful moments: the hatching of sea turtles on the beaches in and around Punta Mita. Annually, female sea turtles, in a mysterious ritual, return to the exact spot of their own hatching in order to lay their eggs. About a month and a half later, by the cloak of night, baby sea turtles struggle to hatch out of their shells and make the long and treacherous journey to the sea. Considered endangered, these babies need all the help they can get to make it. Locals and tourists gather on the beaches to help guide and cheer on these brand-new creatures as they crawl to the ocean to begin their lives.

Yacht Charters

Getting on a boat with other tourists not your thing? Then you may consider chartering a private yacht to take you and your group out into the luminous blue waters around Punta Mita. Once on the yacht, you can just relax and enjoy the sun glistening off the water. Or you can choose from many exciting water adventures, such as fishing, snorkeling, scuba diving, whale watching, or riding a wave runner! Whatever you and your group decide, we are sure you will have an unforgettable day!
